The Survey of Western Palestine.

The map of Western Palestine was constructed from surveys conducted by C.R. Conder and H.H. Kitchener on behalf of the Palestine Exploration Fund between 1872 and 1878 (the last map was surveyed in 1878). The maps were drawn by Conder and Kitchener but the lettering and finishing was done mostly by J. Brophy and J. Maling of the Royal Engineers. The Albright copy is one of the subscriber's copies, no. 75, but the name of the original subscriber has not been preserved. There is a key map at the front of the volume. The map sheets are numbered I-XXVI, but are not titled.

The Survey of Western Palestine.

This is a later edition of the Map of Western Palestine, with the addition of G. Schumacher's name as the surveyor of the areas east of the Jordan. The plates which include these geographical areas have been altered, but for the most part the map plates in this edition are reprints of the earlier edition.
