The National Council of the W. F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research provides its members with a unique opportunity to influence the future, growth and development of the oldest and one of the most prestigious American archaeological research centers in the world.
Members serve at the invitation of the Albright Board of Trustees and are welcome to attend Trustee meetings as non-voting guests of the Board. At present, the membership is limited to 15. National Council members may be nominated to serve as Trustees.
National Council members play a crucial role in their support of the mission of the Albright by participating in the Institute’s fundraising and development efforts by pledging their direct financial support for a minimum period of three years.
In addition
An annual National Council event is to be held in New York, or in conjunction with the Fall Board meeting, during which Council members will meet with the Albright President and Trustees to discuss the latest news and the needs of the Albright. The highlight of the meeting will be a special presentation by a senior Albright archaeologist. This is intended to provide a stimulating forum, in which National Council members can learn about and discuss some of the most recent archaeological developments in Israel and its neighboring countries.
